Privacy policy.

Effective date: April 2026
Last updated: April 2026

This is the Privacy Policy for angiehartwell.com (the "Site"), operated by Angie Hartwell ("I," "me," "my"). I wrote it to be read, not skimmed past. If you have questions after reading it, the contact form is on the Contact page.

The short version: I collect the minimum I need to run a newsletter and answer messages. I don't track you around the internet. I don't sell your data. I don't run ads.

1. What I collect

If you sign up for the newsletter: your email address, and your name if you choose to give it. That's it.

If you use the contact form: your name, email, and whatever you write in the message.

If you just read the site: your browser sends standard technical information to my hosting provider (things like IP address, browser type, and which page you requested). This happens automatically with any website on the internet. I don't have analytics software reading or storing this. My host keeps basic server logs for security and performance purposes.

I do not collect payment information on this site. I do not collect information from children under 13.

2. How I use it

Newsletter data is used to send you the newsletter. When I send it. Which is not often.

Contact form messages are used to reply to you. If you ask me a question, I answer the question.

Server logs are used by the hosting provider to keep the site running and secure.

That's the full list. I don't use your information for advertising, profiling, or resale. I don't have a marketing automation sequence lying in wait for you.

3. Who else sees it

The Site is small, but a few third-party services help run it. Each has its own privacy policy, linked below.

I don't share your information with anyone else, and I don't sell it. Ever.

4. Cookies and tracking

I don't run analytics software on this site. I don't run advertising pixels. I don't run retargeting scripts. I don't track you across other sites.

Cookies that may appear anyway:

None of these are used to build a profile of you or serve you ads. If my tracking footprint ever changes — if I add analytics, or embed third-party content, or do anything that would meaningfully affect your privacy — I will update this policy and note the change.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work.

5. Your rights

You can:

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), or other state privacy laws. If you want to exercise those rights, contact me and I'll comply. I don't charge for it, and I don't make you jump through hoops.

6. Data retention

7. Security

I use reputable third-party providers (listed above) who handle data security as part of their service. I don't store sensitive personal information on this site myself. No system is perfectly secure, but the attack surface here is small because the data footprint is small.

8. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them. If you're a parent or guardian and you believe your child signed up for the newsletter, contact me and I'll remove them.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, I'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and note the change in the newsletter. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the updated policy.

10. Contact

Questions about this policy, your data, or anything else privacy-related: use the contact form.

Governing law: This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA.
